Heath is a passionate fly-fishing guide and educator based in Washington State, where he spends much of his time exploring the Yakima River system in search of wild trout. A graduate of the renowned Sweetwater Guide School, Heath has chased trout from Chile to Alaska—and nearly everywhere in between.
For Heath, fly fishing has been far more than a pastime; it’s been a gift that shaped his perspective, his patience, and his purpose. That sense of gratitude fuels his desire to help others experience the same connection to water, fish, and wild places through thoughtful education and time on the river.
Before guiding, Heath earned a Master’s degree in Information Security Engineering, and has enjoyed a nearly 30 year career in technology that allowed him to collaborate with people from every walk of life. That background, paired with his calm and engaging teaching style, helps anglers of all experience levels feel comfortable, confident, and inspired on the water.
Heath is a veteran of the United States Army and served multiple tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He uses these experiences to help veteran organizations dedicated to building community through fly fish.
When he’s not fishing, you’ll often find Heath behind the camera, in his woodshop crafting fine furniture, or off on adventures with his wife, Sara, and their Blue Heeler, Murphy.
Heath is a licensed and insured fishing guide in the State of Washington.
Whether you’re picking up a fly rod for the first time or refining your cast in pursuit of selective trout, Heath’s approach is simple: create meaningful, relaxed days on the water that leave you learning, laughing, and ready for the next adventure.
